Counselling in Kent

Compassionate, non-judgemental, discreet talking therapy.

Is every day a struggle where depression or anxiety leave you feeling exhausted? Have you experienced a loss or bereavement? Are you feeling overwhelmed by the impact of a traumatic event, or struggling to find meaning in your life?

For these and many other issues talking therapy can help.

As a registered BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) counselor I am committed to offering compassionate, non-judgmental and confidential therapy and I ascribe to the BACP ethical framework.

Issues that I can help with include; anger management, anxiety, bereavement and loss, depression, disability and health related issues, neuro-diversity, gender identity and fluidity, personal identity and development, trauma and post-traumatic stress, relationships, spirituality and meaning, self esteem and work related stress.

Choosing a therapist online can seem quite a random process, and you only really know whether you have the right person after therapy has begun. So I would encourage you to view several therapist profiles before choosing and please feel free to contact me for further information or to book a session.

About Therapy

Good psychotherapy is based on a collaborative relationship between you as client and myself as therapist. Together we seek to enable your innate ability to heal, to positively encounter the present, gain insight into the past, develop life changing habits and learn to live more fully.

I practice integrative therapy which basically means that I can use a variety of counselling techniques depending upon what is most appropriate for you. Technically the approach I take is phenomenological, often using archetypal psychology and transactional analysis.  At its heart is the sense that whatever you are struggling with, it can be encountered through the therapeutic relationship in the present moment.

I will be led by your intuition as you are the expert on your own experience. Your sense of what needs to be addressed will evolve in our conversation, sometimes expressed as a story, image or idea.

Effective therapy often involves risk , it takes courage to address painful feelings and thoughts. I work to provide a safe, supportive environment to enable you to address the issues that are affecting you. This is underpinned by my commitment to compassion, kindness and emotional integrity.
